Up until a week ago nothing seemed wrong with Steve. He was busy trying to escape out the front door, constantly in the middle of everything and watching the world go by from our kitchen table. We noticed some trouble breathing which was initially diagnosed as asthma. Further testing revealed a mass around his heart. He came home Friday from the vet. We had to put him to sleep today. We knew his time was limited but had no idea he would be gone so soon.
Anyone who has come to our house has a great memory of Steve. We adopted him from animal control 4 years ago. He was such a dog...always around, waiting at the front door for you to come home. He was 100% Russ' cat. Russ will miss him greatly as will the rest of us. What an enormous loss - he was a special little guy we loved to pieces that was such a big part of our family.

AWWWW-I'm so sad! I will miss him.
I know- me too! Our house seems so empty without him around.
Sam keeps asking 'where cat go' because he saw Russ take him...
Nooooo! I am so sad too. Is Russ ok?
Yeah- Russ is ok but he took Steve to the vet so he is pretty upset.
When I got home today Steve was really bad and I knew it was time:(
It is so sad- he was such a great cat.
Oh no! I am in tears. Steve was such a fun cat. I was actually just thinking about him last night. I was thinking "when Erin comes over on Thursday I am going to ask her about Bob. Bob? That's not his name. No, that's my dad's name. Oh, oh Steve! Yes, I will ask her about Steve cause i like that cat!" So weird. I wonder if this is why I thought of him. Sorry for you loss. It's crazy how out pets become apart of the family!
"your" loss. "our" pets! ugh.
