Playground Magazine

My friend Amy just e-mailed me and asked me if I saw Sams' picture in an Amy Smith ad in a local magazine.

NO!!

I went to the website and downloaded the current issue and there he was! She included his picture from our most recent session that we used for our Christmas cards. How neat... I will be scouring the town for copies of this magazine tonight!!

Check out our cutie on page 4 here!

New Robe

I have decided living with a 2 year consists of a lot of drama- at least in our house it does. When Sam gets out of the bath every day he is FREEZING- teeth chattering, begging to be covered with blankets. My mom and dad ordered him a monogrammed bath robe for Christmas so he could keep warm after his bath. He loves it. I didn't post the pictures of him lifting up the robe like a skirt and cracking up!! He is quite a character...

Christmas

We had a wonderful Christmas day with my parents. Russ fried a turkey for us which was delicious. Sam was so excited and could not believe his eyes when he saw what Santa had left. He was wound up all day! Harper got into the spirit enjoying her new toys. Sams' big gift from Santa was a wooden fire station which he loved. Santa was also pretty good to me. I got the Nikon camera I have had my eye on. What fun starting Christmas traditions with our kids.

Cookies For Santa

This afternoon Sam and I made cookies and decorated them for Santa. Sam made sure he inspected and sampled each cookie first! I sure hope Santa likes A LOT of sprinkles...

BabyLegs

I swear I am not getting paid for this endorsment but I wish I was! When Sam was first born I read about babylegs on another mommy blog. I thought they were so cute and filed it away in case I ever had a baby girl who I would love to put in babylegs. We don't stay cold for very long but who cares, I thought they were adorable- baby leg warmers:) They also protect their legs when they start crawling- I was sold:)

Today, at Target, they had babylegs!! Oh yeah, dressing a baby girl can be so much fun!!

And here they are...

If you enlarge this last photo you can see how swollen Harper's gums are- where are those teeth??

Weekend

We had a really great weekend getting ready for Christmas. Things started out a bit shaky with Sam having a stomach bug but he quickly recovered. We put up our tree and put in some new shelves in the garage which allowed me to re-organize things out there.I love to clean and organize and I was pleased with the results. My parents came over on Saturday to help out a bit and watched the kids while Russ and I ran out for a quick dinner.

I really have enjoyed starting Christmas traditions with Sam this year. He is really getting into Christmas and all he wants is cars from Santa. He enjoyed helping us put the ornaments on the tree today.

Tagged

I was tagged by Jenn over at Patience is a Virtue.

First, the tagging game's rules:
Link to the person who tagged you.

Post the rules on your blog.
Write 6 random things about yourself.
Tag 6-ish people at the end of your post.
Let each person know he/she has been tagged.
Let the tagger know when your entry is up.

1. I used hot rollers to style my hair up until about 2 years ago. Retro, huh? I also believed I had to roll my hair at least two times to get it right before I headed out the door. I finally switched hairstylists and got such a great cut the rollers were gone!

2. The first thing I do when I get up in the morning is drink about 1/4 a can of coke. I think I am addicted to it at this point.

3. On the topic of caffeine, the hardest thing for me to give up while pregnant was caffeine. Take my red wine- I could care less. I really missed the caffeine.

4. I have trapped and spayed/neutered at least 25 feral cats in our neighborhood. At one point we had 7 cats in our house. We are down to 4 now. Yes, I am that crazy cat lady you fear.

5. When I decide to do something, I really do it. I started getting into orchids and I read/researched everything I could and ended up with 50 in our yard. That hobby went away when I had kids- no time! I am now into my Nikon camera and photography. This I can do with kids because all I do it take pictures of our kids:) It is a perfect match...

6. I have a very high pain tolerance. I can get very focused and relaxed and withstand a lot of pain. I attribute my two drug free deliveries of my babies to this fact. I didn't yell or curse at Russ once. What amazing births they were:)
